Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using the Glossary mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Glossary ("we", "our", "us").

Glossary is a vocabulary learning application that provides curated word cards, interactive games, and personalised learning tools to help users expand their English vocabulary. The App is available on iOS and Android and offers both free and premium subscription tiers.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App and accept these Terms.

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately at hello@glossary.mytikas.org if you suspect unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App's content without our written consent
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or extract content from the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity

Glossary offers a premium subscription that unlocks additional vocabulary, topics, and game modes.

• Billing: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
• Price changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any price changes.

All content in the App — including but not limited to word definitions, curated vocabulary lists, game designs, graphics, logos, and software code — is the property of Glossary or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not include any right to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the App's content.

While we strive to ensure the accuracy of all vocabulary content (definitions, pronunciations, usage examples), we cannot guarantee that the content is free of errors or perfectly up to date. The App is intended for educational purposes and should not be used as a sole reference for academic, legal, or medical purposes.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GLOSSARY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

The App integrates third-party services including Supabase (backend), Superwall (subscriptions), and the Apple App Store / Google Play (distribution and payments). Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction in which we operate, unless otherwise required by the laws of your country of residence.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, providing an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
